Dr. Raj Kaushik, MD, FACS, FACC

Dr. Raj Kaushik, Heart Surgeon, St. Mary's Hospital, Passaic NJDr. Kaushik has held the post of chief of cardiac surgery for Cardiovascular Surgical Associates and St. Mary's hospital since 2003. He started this practice in 1990 based out of the current site, as well as St. Claire's Hospital in Denville and Mountainside Hospital in Montclair, NJ.

Prior to that, he was Chief Resident at the Bridgeport/Yale University School of Medicine, and he completed his cardiothoracic residency at Newark Beth Israel medical center under Dr. Victor Parsonette. Dr. Kaushik completed an advanced cardiac surgery fellowship under Dr. Michael Debakey at the Baylor College of Medicine and he did additional training as an Electrophysiology Fellow under Dr. Giraudon at the University of Western Ontario. As a fellow, he was the author of several publications on cardiac surgical electrophysiology.

Dr. Kaushik's professional interests include off-pump bypass surgery, mitral valve repair and implantation of stentless aortic valves.

His hobbies include photography, gardening and scuba diving.
